|Jim Zook, Executive Director
Jim was born and raised on his family’s farm in central Illinois. After earning a BS from Illinois State University, he worked in the farm supply business in Wisconsin before moving to Michigan in 1999 to accept a position as the Crops Agent for Michigan State University Extension. He helped facilitate discussions for Michigan Corn Processors that eventually led to the state’s first ethanol facility in Caro, Michigan and then helped co-found and manage the ethanol facility in Woodbury. Jim and his wife Carol currently live in Mason.
|Kay Barclay, Accountant & Office Administrator
Kay was born and raised in Grand Ledge, Michigan and graduated from Grand Ledge High School. She obtained a degree in Business Management from Lansing Community College and attended Central Michigan University. Kay began her career in banking and then moved to ag related positions and joined the Corn Marketing Program in 2008 as Accountant and Office Administrator. She has two grown sons and a 16 year old granddaughter. Kay likes to garden and read in her spare time and spend time with friends and family. She looks forward to trips to Florida to visit her granddaughter.
|Tera Havard, Executive Assistant
Tera grew up on a cash crop and livestock farm in Pigeon, where her dad and brother continue to farm. She graduated from CMU with a BS in Business Administration. She most recently worked in a real estate office, but is happy to be back in the agricultural industry. She lives in DeWitt with her husband and two young boys.
|Angel Jenio, Communications Director
Angel was born and raised in Michigan. She holds a BA from James Madison College at Michigan State University. She began her career working for the Michigan House of Representatives and transitioned from there to a multi-client communications firm where she worked on a broad array of issues from agriculture to organized labor. Angel joined the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan team in 2014 where she handles marketing and communications as well as trade and ethanol policy.
|Natalie Rector, Research Coordinator, Contractor
Natalie grew up on a crop and livestock farm in Cass County where her brother and nephew continue the farm operation today. She has a BS in Crop and Soil Science and MS in Natural Resources both from MSU. She has thirty years of experience as a Multi-County Extension Field Crops Educator in south central Michigan and specialized in manure nutrient management statewide. She and her husband Don live in Marshall and have two grown sons.
|Theresa Sisung, Advocacy & Outreach Director
Theresa grew up on a cash crop and livestock farm near St. Johns and continues to help her parents with the operation. She graduated with a BS in Ag and Natural Resources Communications from MSU. Shortly after graduation in 2008 she began her career working for Michigan Corn. She still lives near her family's farm while she and her sisters are actively involved in raising and showing Shorthorn cattle across the country. She also continues to be heavily involved with the Clinton County 4-H programs and raises show pigs in partnership with her dad.
|Penni Sweeney, Membership & Events Director
Penni joined the Michigan Corn staff in 2006 and currently serves as the organization’s Membership and Events Coordinator. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal and Public Communications/Business from Central Michigan University and has a diverse background with many years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. Previously, she resided in Hawaii, Washington, Tennessee and Louisiana. She currently lives in Dewitt with her husband and two teenage children and can be frequently spotted driving throughout the state to her kids various sporting events.
