stoveHeating with corn has becoming a fast-growing alternative to the traditional heating methods of propane and electricity, especially with the extremely high prices of energy. As a result, the corn heat industry is growing at a rapid rate and many questions are being raised. This website has been put together to address many of the questions that have been asked regarding heating with corn. This website is a collection of information assembled from a variety of sources to provide an educational resource for consumers and producers regarding the corn heat industry. For the purposes of this website, "corn heating unit" will refer to corn stoves, furnaces, and boilers.

"As a result of the rapid industry growth, we have pulled together the Corn Heat Task Force, a compilation of corn heating manufacturers, dealers, and sellers of corn, along with researchers, extension specialists, industry representatives, representatives from governmental agencies, the Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA), and the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan (CMPM). Corn heating unit manufacturers and dealers who paid to participate with the MCGA and CMPM are featured throughout the website and our other educational materials. They are also invited to sit on our Corn Heat Task Force and have a hand in shaping the future of the corn heating industry."

- Jody E. Pollok
MCGA and CMPM Executive Director
