how to get corn

The following companies are selling corn specifically for corn heating units. When working with a corn seller, be sure to ask the following questions before making a purchase:

  • At what moisture content is your corn sold?
  • Do you clean the corn before it's sold?
  • Do you bag the corn?
  • Do you offer delivery? If so, to which locations?

For more information on how to purchase corn, contact a seller in your area.

Established under 1965 P.A. 232, and voted in by the state's corn producers in 1992, the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan receives one penny per bushel for all field corn grown in Michigan and sold. The "check-off" funding is invested in education, market development, new uses and research. Those who are supplying corn to be burned in corn heating units are required by law to pay the "penny" check-off. The "penny" checkoff helps fund the corn heat education and research projects.
