Heating with corn has become a popular alternative for heating homes and businesses. Although corn stoves are similar to wood-burning stoves, they have been designed to burn a dry granular fuel, such as shelled corn. Corn stoves, furnaces and boilers can be used to heat a single room, an entire house, an outdoor building like a shed or a barn, a factory, or even an entire school system or college campus. Corn heating units burn 20 percent hotter and burn much cleaner than wood. They have become increasingly more efficient over the past decade as a result of technological advances. For more information on corn stoves, furnaces or boilers, read our special Heating with Corn newsletter or visit the following websites.
