ETHANOL

The ethanol industry is a fast-growing, fast-changing industry. Ethanol has become the major topic of conversation at meetings and farmer gatherings. Currently it is a focus of legislators and consumers as they look at alternative fuels and legislation to help reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

With increased interest in ethanol, production at ethanol plants is above projected capacities and investments continue to grow for new facilities. In Michigan, four ethanol plants are currently operational, two plants are in the construction stage, and others are in various stages of being discussed.
