Carbon Market Resources
Carbon markets offer an opportunity for farmers to earn an additional income stream while continuing to practice good stewardship of the land. These resources will help farmers as they navigate these new market opportunities. This page will be regularly updated as we learn more about carbon market opportunities in Michigan.
There are many organizations throughout the U.S. working to create a functioning carbon market for farmers. The goal of these markets broadly is to incentivize farmers to adopt sustainable agriculture practices that will sequester carbon and other harmful greenhouse gasses and to create a functional, reliable marketplace for buyers and sellers.
